Jacobs ladder

This was the spot that had been burned this spring and as I anticipated the Jacobs ladder was abundant!  Absolutely incredible. In number, I can only compare it to Virginia bluebells alongside some of the rivers here.

Jacob’s ladder (Polemonium caeruleum)

I saw the leaves for this a week or so ago but today we saw three blossoming specimens.  Another beauty!  Every year I say the spring ephemerals are my favorite- and then the prairie flowers start, and they are my favorite, too!  My favorite plants tend to be those I’m looking at right now! 😃
